Henry D. Levezey was not a judge, lawyer or a minister, he was a hard working man who had a hand in building many of the historical landmarks that exist today in Doylestown.
He was laborer, turned businessman. He owned a large stone quarry on East Ashland street. He was contracted by the town to construct many of our buildings. The building contract for the Doylestown Public School was awarded to him.
Mr. Livezey and James Flack also of Doylestown supervised all the building. It took less then a year to complete the building at a cost of 28,239.
He also supplied most of the stone for the former prison on Pine Street that today is the Michener Art Museum. At one time it was said that Henry owned more houses in Doylestown then any other man.
