Dr. George T. Harvey

Dr George T Harvey was born in Doylestown on Feb 17, 1813. He was educated at Bridge Point and in Doylestown at the Academy.

He would go into the profession of medicine and start a Drug Store next to his family home on North Main Street (today it is where the Hart Building stands). He was involved in many local activities such as being elected postmaster, on town council and was a Captain of Company E of the 104th Pennsylvania Volunteers.

He was a large landowner and owned lots of land along East Ashland Street. His land now is the Micheler Art Museum and the Library. Doylestown would later name a street after him.
